My first love was for sure everything around
mountains and climbing. Already in my younger days
I spend every single minute on the peaks around my hometown.
Climbing, skiing or just exploring nature…

A love what is still a huge part of my life. The subjects of pushing the limits changed over the years and my approach got more sophisticated. With the project “photographic nomads” I want to spend as much time as possible along the amazing mountains through Europe. From the polar circle at Norway, all the way down to Meteora in Greece.

In our current media environment there seems
to be less motivation to strive for extensively
researched and incisive journalism…

Everybody is playing against time and budget at the cost of insightful information. Only the „clicks“ count in addition to being „the fastest“ in bringing out „news“. This pressure on us results in factual errors, little or no insight into important topics and to “black and white” world views. But an in-depth reporting is essential for a functioning media society and for democracy as a whole. Therefore I approach the complexity of the world with „slow“ journalism, deep research and a close interaction with the people I portrait.

Cooperating together with first-rate restaurants and chefs,
is one of my favoured working environments.

In high-class kitchens there exists a very professional attitude, where everybody exactly knows what to do – under very stressful conditions. At a place where everyone has his explicit duty, gives me the possibility to focus on my profession and work integrated in a precise workflow. I already been working together with famous Chefs like Tim Mälzer, Chele Gonzales or Nicco Santos – from Hamburg all the way to Manila.
