My name is Flo Smith and I’m a documentary photo- and cinematographer,
struggling through life with diagnosed (F84.5) Aspergers Autism Syndrome
in conjunction with a savant in photography and an intellectually giftedness.
I’m on the road together with my Australian Shepherd “Moidl”,
chasing the decisive photographic moments!
The asset of my work is a solid, reliable & dedicated
reportage photography, captured with an analogue attitude,
free from any photoshop bric-à-brac’s and in true frame…
“candid & pure reportage photography,
with a decent pinch of Rock ’n Roll!”
To get back on the road and become a wider operating distance,
my first priority is to collect enough money through assignments,
picture sales in my online shop and/or a company sponsoring
to effort a good conditioned four-by-four transporter
and equip the interior for a life on the road.
Find more details about this venture
and how to support us reaching this goal,
in the menu feature “The Project”.
Over the last 15 years I was working for various global brands like The North Face,
Peak Performance, Petzl, Red Bull, Gloryfy, K2 Skis, Bagjump Action Sports,
HIKO Sports, EXO Kayaks or the MS Mondraker – MTB-Worldcup Team.
Since the beginning of my professional career my work was published over 700 times
in news & reportage magazines like: The Guardian, Huffington Post, TIME Magazine,
Le Nouvel Observateur, Wall Street Journal, Kristeligt Dagblad or VICE News,
and over 400 times in sports & lifestyle magazines like: Random Bike Magazine,
Bike Magazine USA, Playboard, Method Mag, Transworld Sports, Paddlers,
Rapid Magazine, Kayak Sessions or CLIMAX Magazine.
During the many years working as a photographer and photo-journalist,
my work got exposed at various exhibitions around the world.
From the “Alpine and Urban Arts” (Innsbruck), “Eyewitnessing Iraq” (Innsbruck)
to the “Material Evidence” Exhibition – about the war in Syria and Iraq,
displayed at locations in Moscow, London, Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona
and the final exhibition on over 800 sqm at the House of Photography/New York.
